Breast augmentation combined with a breast lift may be ideal for women who have experienced changes in breast volume, breast shape, skin laxity, or nipple position after pregnancy, breastfeeding, aging, or weight loss.
Where are the incisions?
When undergoing a breast augmentation with lift, the areolar or inframammary incision locations are often selected. The breast lift technique used will determine the breast implant incision location. If you undergo the crescent, doughnut, or lollipop lift technique, the implant will probably be inserted through an incision around the areola. If you need the anchor lift technique, the implant will be placed with an inframammary (in the breast crease) incision.
How are the implants placed in breast augmentation with lift?
The breast implant is either placed above or below the chest muscle. Breast implants placed below the chest muscle look more natural, but implants placed above the chest muscle create more cleavage and have a shorter, more comfortable recovery. The benefits and disadvantages of each placement approach will be discussed with you in your pre-operative consultation.
